Tower Hamlets Transformers Project – Over Summer 2012 we worked in partnership with Society Links and The S:fford Centre in Tower Hamlets on a project that celebrated young people’s par:cipa:on in arts and sports. Green Shoes Arts worked with groups of young people at both centres to design and create two mosaic artworks.

As part of the same project we created a short film about a group of young people on the Community Sports Leadership Programme; the film follows these Leaders through their training and records some of the sports sessions they delivered within their local community. The film was premiered at an event in September, following a photo exhibi:on of the Community Sports Leadership Programme.

B&D Beach 2012 -‐ To celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Barking & Dagenham Olympic Ambi:on Team asked us to design a scenery to go around the Beach 2012 in Barking Town Square.

The design was painted with help from Barking school pupils at the Countdown Schools Day, despite high winds and howling rain!

B&D Molten FesLval -‐ As part of Barking and Dagenham’s Annual Arts Fes:val, we brought together a group of young people to devise a promenade performance around Barking Town Centre to celebrate the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The story of a young athlete under pressure to succeed provided audience members and actors with the opportunity to reflect on the themes of ambi:on, dedica:on and achievement. The performance also asked audience members to recall their favorite moment from the 2012 Games.
